What Sorcery Is This?

Apparently due to this phenomenon called Troxler’s Fading, it is possible to stare at an image and have it disappear right before your eyes. Pick a point in the middle of the image below and stare at it. Wait a few seconds and it will start to fade away. Don’t move your eyes or it will come back; just observe in your peripheral vision.
