Pick a point in the middle of the image below and stare at it. Wait a few seconds and it will start to fade away. Don’t move your eyes or it will come back; just observe in your peripheral vision.

Guess what? It’s still mostly science fiction, but we’re getting more and more towards making it science non-fiction. Scientists at UC Berkeley have found a way to take a person’s visual activity data and match it to a database of similar visuals. So it’s not quite projecting your mind, but it’s matching your mind to a library of possible visuals. With a big enough library, who knows. Part of me hopes I’m dead before this goes mainstream.
